The Medical Genetics Institute in Shaare Zedek Medical Center provides extensive genetic services - both clinical and laboratory, from diagnosis of embryos prior to pregnancy - PGD, to identifying the hereditary basis of adult disease, including cancer.

Research Activities include:

The genetics of adult-onset disease, especially diseases common in the adult population. Breast/ovarian cancer and BRCA1/BRCA2 genes. Factors which influence cancer risk in carriers, including both genetic factors (modifier genes) and environmental factors. Alzheimer's disease and the PSEN2 gene.
